Telescopic describes how a pool pole extends, not what it is made from. Carbon-fiber poles can be telescopic just like aluminium or fiberglass models. A useful buying decision compares complete products and the task they must perform.
Material is one part of the design
Tube size, wall construction, number of joints and hardware affect the finished tool. Carbon composite can provide a useful stiffness-to-weight balance, but a material label alone cannot prove that one pole is lighter, stronger or more durable than every other model.
Choose reach you can control
Longer extension changes leverage and handling. Use only the length needed for the job and stay within the maker’s section limits. Work from secure deck positions, moving closer when practical. Do not use a cleaning pole to pry against coping, lift people or substitute for designated rescue equipment.

Check the locks and connections
- Find out how the locks operate and whether approved replacement parts are available.
- Compare the complete pole’s weight at the same useful length.
- Match socket diameter, button positions and insertion depth to your attachments.
- Verify any adapter with both tool makers rather than assuming all standard-looking heads fit.
Inspect every material
Dents, cracks, crushed areas, exposed fibers and concentrated wear deserve attention. A composite tube may fail differently from a metal tube, so lack of a permanent bend does not prove that it is sound. Stop using damaged equipment and follow the manufacturer’s advice.
Choose a model for the pool
An intact shorter pole may be sufficient for a small pool. A longer carbon-fiber model can be considered when reach and handling justify it. If a job has electrical-protection requirements, follow the applicable approved-equipment instructions; carbon fiber is electrically conductive.
Blackout Pro as an option
Our Blackout Pro 26ft Carbon Fiber Pool Pole combines carbon-fiber tubing with quick-release lever clamps. The 26ft designation is the nominal maximum pole length, not a promise of access to every point in a pool. Check the current listing for the configuration, included items and purchase terms. Preston, a certified pool operator, developed our pole range for pool-cleaning work.

Safety: Carbon fiber conducts electricity. Keep the pole clear of power lines and electrical equipment. Use it only for its intended cleaning work, and follow the pole and attachment manufacturers’ instructions.
