Primate Pool Tools and our Blackout Pro are separate product lines. If you are researching a Primate carbon fiber pool pole, compare the actual Primate model with the alternative you are considering. The Blackout Pro photos and store links on this page identify our own product, and they should not be mistaken for Primate equipment.
We sell the Blackout Pro 26ft Carbon Fiber Pool Pole. This guide uses Primate’s published model information to help you compare reach, adjustment and upkeep. The specifications come from the linked product pages; we have not conducted a documented side-by-side performance test.

Identify the Primate model first
The current Primate pole catalog lists the 3X 8×22ft, 3X 6×16ft, 3X Maverick 4×13ft and 2X 8×15ft models, plus separate extensions. Those names describe different configurations. A generic “Primate carbon fiber pole” listing leaves too much unspecified for a useful comparison.
- Primate 3X 8×22ft: The manufacturer lists a three-section lever-lock pole with an 8ft collapsed length and 22ft extended length.
- Primate 3X 6×16ft: A three-section lever-lock model. Its name is nominal; the description also gives a 15.6ft reach. Confirm the dimensions if a few inches affect the job.
- Other Primate configurations: The Maverick and 2X models offer different section counts and length ranges. Check their detailed pages rather than transferring specifications from another Primate pole.
Our approximately 26ft Blackout Pro is a four-section pole with three quick-release locks. Compared with the nominal 22ft Primate model, it offers about four feet more listed maximum length. That difference does not establish a weight, stiffness or handling advantage. Compare the actual working length and the same attachment.
Decide how much length is useful
Map the areas you need to clean from stable deck positions. Allow for pool depth, the angle to the floor and enough pole in your hands for control. Maximum pole length is not the same as usable distance beyond the pool edge.
If you normally work at shorter settings, collapsed length and balance may matter more than the highest number in a listing. If the far end of your pool is genuinely out of reach, a longer pole or a compatible extension system may be worth comparing. Follow the specific manufacturer’s instructions for any extension arrangement.
Compare locks, fittings and replacement parts
Both product lines offer lever-operated adjustment, but their hardware and spare parts are model-specific. A similar appearance does not establish that a replacement lever, tube or grip is interchangeable. Check the exact model and generation before ordering a repair part.
The Blackout Pro listing specifies 3K carbon fiber, three replaceable quick locks, all-black hardware and a textured grip. Its metal tool connector uses a 16-hole pattern for attachment and drainage. Check your net, brush or vacuum head’s socket and retaining-button engagement before buying.

Primate publishes a user manual with parts and adjustment guidance. For Primate equipment, it says to open the lever fully before moving a section and warns against levering the pole on coping or lifting a heavy vacuum out at full extension. Follow that manual for Primate-specific maintenance; use the instructions supplied with Blackout Pro for its adjustments.
Treat durability claims carefully
Carbon fiber equipment still needs inspection and appropriate handling. Do not assume a pole is unbreakable because it does not dent like an aluminium tube. Stop using equipment with visible structural damage or a connection that will not hold. Protect it from crushing and repeated abrasion in transport and use.
Primate’s manufacturer FAQ also confirms that carbon fiber conducts electricity. Keep long poles away from power lines and electrical equipment. These are pool-maintenance tools; a long shaft or an accessory that fits does not make a rescue device.
Which should you put on your shortlist?
A Primate model is worth comparing if its working range, storage size and parts support fit your routine. Consider Blackout Pro when its approximately 26ft length, four-section layout and connector suit a reach or adjustment problem you need to solve. Weigh the useful length, attachment fit and available service parts together when deciding what represents good value.
Check current total price, included items, warranty details and shipping with the seller for the exact model. If a specification differs between a product name and its detailed description, resolve it before ordering.
