Telescoping Pool Pole: The Pro’s Solution for Clean Pools

A telescoping pool pole lets you adjust one handle for several cleaning tasks. Good results depend on using the right head, securing the connection and choosing a manageable working length. The pole itself does not replace the brush, net or vacuum system.

Start with the task

  • For floating debris, choose a suitable surface net; a deeper leaf-rake bag can collect larger debris loads.
  • For brushing, use a head and bristle type approved for the pool finish.
  • For manual vacuuming, match the head and hose to the filtration setup. A powered cleaner may have its own handle and adapter requirements.

Connect before extending

Check that the attachment is compatible and seats fully, with its retaining buttons or approved locking system engaged. Inspect the connection for damage or excessive play. Support the tool while changing heads instead of balancing a long unsupported pole.

Extend only as far as needed

Follow the pole’s section limits and locking instructions. Begin from a stable deck position and keep the load under control. Reposition along the pool edge when it gives a better angle. Do not stand on a diving board, ladder or other improvised platform to gain cleaning reach.

Work with the attachment

Empty a leaf net before its load becomes awkward. Brush with controlled passes appropriate for the finish rather than forcing the pole. Guide a vacuum head and manage its hose without using the pole as a crane; do not lift a heavy cleaner out of the water on a fully extended handle.

Finish with a condition check

Follow the maker’s rinsing and storage guidance. Check the locks, connector and tubes before packing the pole away, and remove damaged equipment from service. A small fault is easier to address before the next job than while the tool is carrying a load.

Blackout Pro as an option

Our Blackout Pro 26ft Carbon Fiber Pool Pole combines carbon-fiber tubing with quick-release lever clamps. The 26ft designation is the nominal maximum pole length, not a promise of access to every point in a pool. Check the current listing for the configuration, included items and purchase terms. Preston, a certified pool operator, developed our pole range for pool-cleaning work.

Safety: Carbon fiber conducts electricity. Keep the pole clear of power lines and electrical equipment. Use it only for its intended cleaning work, and follow the pole and attachment manufacturers’ instructions.
